Have you tried hot honey on your sourdough discard pizza? It goes great with a pepperoni and feta pizza, or any other toppings of your choice. It give the right touch of spice with the sweetness of the honey. Delightful!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5-10 min

Servings: 1 cup hot honey

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Honey

  • 1/2 Jalepeno

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Red Chili Flakes, (optional)

  • a splash Vinegar

Preparation Steps

1. Place the honey in a small saucepan over medium low heat.

2. Add the chopped pepper.

3. Let the mixture sit over medium-low heat for 5-10 minutes so the flavors can steep, adding time if you want it spicier.

4. Once steeped, remove it from the heat, let it cool, and season it with a splash of vinegar, some salt, and pepper.

5. If you want it spicier, throw in more peppers, a big pinch of red chili flakes, or some hot sauce.

6. If it’s too spicy for you, just add more honey to dilute it.

7. Store your hot honey in an air tight container for 6-8 months.
