Mama Nancy's Sausage Seasoning

“I created this recipe years ago. We have used it on ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken.”

I would love more FREE recipes and tips straight to my IN BOX!

I use this to season our ground meat and put it in a sauce, use it as a pizza topping, or make meatballs with it. Most commonly, it gets used as a topping for discard pizza at our house. I usually keep some made up so it's ready to go at the last minute when we decide it's pizza night again!

Cook Time: 10 min

Ingredients

For the Seasoning:

  • 2.5 lb Ground Beef, Pork, Chicken or Turkey

  • 1 Medium Onion, minced (if making meatballs)

  • 3 Garlic Cloves, minced (if making meatballs)

  • 1 Tbsp Sea Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Pepper, fresh ground

  • 1 Tbsp Dried Parsley

  • 1 Tbsp Cumin

  • 1 Tbsp Dried Basil

  • 2 tsp Paprika

  • 2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

  • 3/4 tsp Fennel Seed

Preparation Steps

1. Add seasonings. Stir. Brown and drain meat.

NOTE

Making your own sausage seasoning allows you to have a healthier sausage with no additives or fillers. Use it to make meatballs, your favorite sauce or top a discard pizza.
